Mr Wevill completed his undergraduate medical and postgraduate ophthalmic degrees at the University of Cape Town.

He was appointed Consultant Ophthalmologist at Tygerberg Academic Hospital where he was also the head of the Glaucoma Clinic.

With extensive and ongoing training in refractive surgery he has successfully completed more than 5000 refractive surgical procedures since 1996.

Procedures include LASIK, LASEK, PRK, LTK, RK, RLE and Phakic IOL implantation as well as cataract and glaucoma surgery.

In 1995 Mr Wevill was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Mr Wevill is actively involved in ophthalmic research.  He regularly attends and presents papers at international ophthalmic surgery congresses.

Mr Wevill is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council and is a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
