As part of an ongoing commitment to excellence in eye care Aston Academy is hosting a continuing education and training event for optometrists on Monday June 9, 2008. The event is is open to optometrists actively practicing in the West Midlands region and is offered free of charge to qualified individuals.

Professor Jon Gibson will give a presentation on the use of ocular coherence tomography. Historically this procedure was only available in hospital departments but now this technology has developed to the point where it can be made available in more specialised optometrist practices.

Delegates will be be offered hands on experience in a follow-on skills workshop.

Bill Harvey, Clinical Editor of Optician will present a lecture on Visual Impairment in General Practice.

There will also be lectures on contact lenses and the latest information on contact lens solutions.

The event will be accredited for CET points.
